Time to upgrade my Skimmer

Borchers

Reefer Who needs Help!!!
Well I have had my EuroReef CS6-1 for 4 years now. Been an amazing skimmer but it's time to move on. It's a little big for my sump and I'm looking for something that I can run that's easier to adjust where it's located. I love the EuroReef skimmers but it's time to move on.

Any suggestions would be awesome as well as any up for grabs.

Specs I'm looking for

Space saving
Easy cup removal
Rated at 150 + gallons heavily stocked
Highly efficient
Skimmer must be easy to clean

I like Reef Octopus and the Bubble Magnus. I've also been looking at the Aquamaxx systems.

My tank....fed well, 150 gallons total water volume after Refugium installed
Heavy stocked

Chris and I both give a vote for a Reef Octopus, we are running one on our 120 gallon sps tank. If I got a new one, I would get one with a DC pump (cheaper to run). However for the price you can go overkill with the Bubble Magnus or the NAC series and still be way cheaper, but I have heard that it is hit and miss on quality.

For your set up, I recommend these skimmers in this order (as upgrades from what you have already):
Bubble king mini 160/180 (space saving)
Bubble king kone 150/180
Vertex alpha 170, maybe even an omega 150
Atb 840 or smaller
Reef octo sro3000/ sro2000 (SSS is an option if you want space saving)
Anything else, and I'd say just stay with your euro reef since it's got a bb1k on there already (wouldn't be much of a difference in performance from your current skimmer)

The bubble magus pumps aren't going to compare to the bb1k pump you already have, in fact imo it's a downgrade if you went this route.

I've had all those above and even a bm nac6, it's like shooting through a Nikon or even a Leupold, you think it's good until you look through a schmit & bender and then you'll see and know exactly why the other one is almost 10x the cost ;)
