Steffen did a great job on this stuff. The stand was in really bad shape when I got it and now it looks solid as a rock. I have plenty of room in the stand for the sump, ATO, pumps, Calc Reactor and additional reactors.

got to do the plumbing now.

The Tank in the house

The Tank in the house

Finally, with the help of Pedro, Eric, Daniel and Henry the TANK IS IN THE HOUSE!!!:bounce3::bounce2::bounce1::bounce1::fish1:

Thanks again for the help today bringing the tank and stand in the house. I really appreciate it.

Looks very nice and dry rock is great for the price, and cycles fast. I got mine a year ago, and today it is doing great and looks wonderful. I would try to place a few pieces of live rock at least in the sump to get things going.

Thanks for the suggestion on the dry rock. Already have 2 fifty pound boxes that I purchased and Im getting ready to put that in as soon as I finish the plumbing

Installed some Puck lighting under the stand today. Much easier to work down their now:

I start cementing some of the plumbing tomorrow. Thought I was gonna get a lot done this weekend but ended up on call so I won't get a lot done. It's all coming along though. I figure I'll have the sand and rock all in by next week sunday and hopefully find I have no leaks when I start putting water in and firing up the pump.

If you check the last photo and enlarge it you can see I got the check valve in today for the plumbing. Just a little insurance in case the power goes out and the sump starts filling up and over! Other ways to do it but this works best for my setup. :spin3:

Tim, it's looking really good. Please explain how and or why the check valve works best for your set up. From what I understand a check valve is a false security, it isn't if it fails but when. There should only be enough water in any given system so that when the power is off the sump will hold all the water that comes down from the display tank and from the plumbing. You can even give yourself a few inches of cushion in that area.

My sump still has plenty of room when the power is off for at least five more gallons. I could have built it different so that it didn't have that much extra room but I have such a big volume of water already I wasn't worried about five gallons or so.

the sump will have plenty of room provided the lock-line returns aren't positioned so low low in the main tank water that they don't break siphon until too much water has backed up into the sump. Just wanted a little extra security. I'll know a little bit more once I have the tank and sump filled and working.

You can drill a hole in the lock-line just under the surface of the water as an added back up and make sure they are positioned just under the surface of the water or as close as possible. As long as you are not depending on that check valve to do the job I think you are ok.
