TM Trigger Systems Platinum V2 Controller

What I'm wondering about is whether the sensors are being used to control the advance motor OR the timer. Thus far, all I've used are the sensors (BTW much stronger magnets are needed IMO). I've discovered that if I keep the activation sensor about 1/8" above the water level IN THE FLEECE CHAMBER the drive will only move fractions of an inch and use very little fleece. Of course, the frequent activation of the drive may not be "good" for its long-term life. I think TM Trigger Systems instructions say to set the activation sensor 1/2" above the skimmer area water level which I tried and went through LOTS of fleece in a short time. The timer default is to advance 10 seconds every half hour which (supposedly) rolls fresh fleece into the entire flow through grids and to do that every half hour seems excessive to me. All of this depends on bio-load from the DT and return pump flow rate.
I'm looking for other's experiences with these settings on this system. I am using a Platinum 26 FYI.
Thanks
