To catch a fox?!?!?!

Im trying to catch my fox face to move him out of my tank, he's gotten a lil to big, faster than I thought!! I dont want to break down my whole tank to catch him, I've aready broken down the right side of the tank that isnt too stocked. Please any ideas or help to catch him.

Night time he goes to sleep, that's the best time to catch him slow and silent

You can also try light shocking him... turn on you lights in the middle of your dark cycle and this tends to temporarily stun the fish... Sort of like a deer in headlights reaction if you are familiar with that expression down there in warm, balmy and relatively deer free Florida. (And yes, I realize may require you to get up at 2am) but often the fish can be caught quickly via this method. Much less stressful on both you and the fish!

if i were u id try the ol' gatorade bottle trick...works every time

if half the tank is broken down...cut eggcrate to fit exactly so that it'll cut the tank in half. scare him on to the empty side and then drop the eggcrate down so he can't get back to the side with rock. then its just time to catch him. If you're getting rid of him let me know as I'm intersted!

Thanks for the info, what the gatorade bottle trick!! I think I m trying the egg crate first. Yes I am getting rid of him, but he's already promised to Volunteerguy, sorry!

I tried to trap mine to no avail...he kept going just into the mouth of the trap and not going all the way in. I ended up netting him with the aid of two nets...one to corral him in to the corner and the other to catch him as he tried to get away.

But then, maybe you should get advice from the "fish whisperer" himself...Rogger...think he's caught foxfaces bare handed :eek1: ...that could hurt with those wicked spines they have!

Lol, Im under the impression Sean wont be to happy if I give him a spear w a little dead fox fish on it, lol. I'm goinfg to try catching him by isolating the tank to one side. If it doesnt work, you'll be getting my pm for your info to swing by ur house on Sun. Happy thanks giving every one!!
