To fudge or just LR. Which would be better?

So I'm about to build my 960g tank and haven't decided on if I want to put just chaeto or just LR in the sump. Yes it will have a skimmer but in the middle section (30"x30x12), just can decide since it's not really deep enough to have both.

What about fuge in the main section and some rubble(good idea Matt) and something like Marinepure blocks in the skimmer and pump sections?

Did someone say fudge? Yes, that.

Are you familiar with large systems? It would take a rather large fuge to make a difference but if you set it up properly it could be useful.

So once you experience chaeto latching onto live rock and growing all over you may wish you did the fuge. In one if my smaller tanks I decided to let my macro alages grow alongside the rock, bad idea it overgrew everything on the rock. I ended up having to remove the effected rocks and h2o2 dip them to kill the alages off the rock because I was unable to strip it away effectively by hand.

Lol yes I'm familiar. Multiple 1000g systems. However, due to constraints in space I'm wondering what would be more beneficial, hence why I asked. Typically when I run fuges I typically have 15-20% of the volume in just a fuge. But here I can't. So that's why I was wondering. But now with all these macro reactors coming out showing mass growth I wondering if it's not just as beneficial to run just LR in the sump and have a large reactor or maybe even a 15g tall tank surrounded by LED string lights like people do on DIY reactors and have that pour into the pump chamber.

Thoughts?

I would not ever put it in the DT. Only in sump or remote tank
