to sps keeper , what do you use to measure the po4?

I agree that the Hanna checker is the best bet ( for now) but Beananmials review on his website is dead on. You have to race the clock for no apparent reason, the results are displayed for a preposterous ten seconds( you better not get up to grab something from the fridge), and the sachets the reagent comes in are glued paper so you have to basically entirely separate the two ply packet to locate every remaining grain of testing powder. It works, and the testing is accurate but Hanna blew it in many aspects of this test.

I believe they addressed this in later models. I believe it is now 3 minutes/1 minute. I will have to time it but I have never felt even a little rushed with mine

I'm a cheap scape; watch for algae growth on my back glass which works like a charm. Once you're in tune with your system you can tell what's off by just looking at it.

Hanna ULR meter here, with great results. Extremely consistent. The key is to make sure ALL microbubbles are off the sides of the vial. Any microbubbles in direct line of the light will be interpreted as higher phosphate. Use the same vial for C1 and C2. At leat on my meter, after C2 is displayed there is a 3 min timeout, after the reading there is a 2 minute timeout. It sounds like older meters are having the timing issues.

u sure about that ?

I'm sure about the tests, the Xenia part I'm guessing. I've used different test kits as well, including Salifert. I'm overfeeding. I've had Nitrates at 20, but usually around 5 since I've fixed my Fuge. Even before that my Phosphates were invisible.

It just sucks my Phosphate dry. I could never register anything above 0. Not even using a Hanna. Obviously I wouldn't recommend it. I'm actually trying to raise my Phosphates and can't.

Tony B, the recent TOTM winner uses a combo of Xenia and Chaeto to manage phosphate and nitrate levels. He has one large tray growing Cheato and another tray growing Xenia.
