To trash or not to trash?

Hello Everyone,

I just noticed that some saltwater entered my digital thermometer and warped the battery and device. I think a little of the battery residue/saltwater went in the bucket that contained my heater, power head, hydrometer, and other water change supplies. I don't know that any of the liquid touched the water change supplies, but I rinsed all with plenty of tap water and salt water. Do I have anything to worry about? A little acid would only drop the pH, right... :)

Am I safe to re-suse my supplies or should I just toss it? Has anyone had anything similar happen to them?

Thanks,

Matt

Quick update, the water was all dumped down the drain. The original containers were washed again before staring a new batch of water.

Also, the battery was a small watch battery - nothing major.

Can never be too safe. I had another issue with a thermometer breaking in my mix container so I trashed the entire setup.

Theres no acid in that battery. Watch batteries are alkaline batteries. Thats a base.

It will wash off with water. No reason to fret.
