Toadstool issue

Ever since I redid my tank (11/05), my toadstool has looked terrible. Come to think of it, when I placed it in the holding bin for my coral for 3 days, it stayed closed the whole time. It now looks awful. Whithered up a lot, no polyp extension. I have tried moving it to a low flow area, high flow, low light, medium light, refugium, nothing seems to be working yet all my corals (LPS, Kenya tree, Zoos, SPS, Clam, Anem.) are all going strong.

I would had to lose this coral as it is one of my favorties. Is there anything that can be done?

I would say "stop moving it"!
Sometimes they can take a while to acclimate , be patient. Everytime you move it, it kind of needs to reacclimate and it might be delaying the process.

What are your water parameters? That might give us some clues on other possibilities.

+1 on stop moving your coral. The more you touch it, move it or change its environment, the more you will stress the coral causing it to stay closed up. Water parameters can play a big part in why corals stay closed up for extended periods. Different species of corals can tolerate different changes in parameters. Some will be absolutely fine and then one will be suffering Just because most of your corals look great doesn't rule out a problem with your water. Alk is the biggest culprit for this sort of thing in my tank. If all your water parameters are up to par and the coral is getting a good amount of intense light and water flow, I would leave it alone unless absolutely necessary and it should start to recover. It's probably all the moving. Sometimes, however, they close up for weeks at a time, which is normal.

Thanks everyone. Seems to be getting better. Instead of just slumping over it is starting to stand up up still no polyp extension. At one point it, it was starting to get diatoms and green algae on its head but that went away. Strange thing happened as well. My clowns seem to take a liking to it. Nibbling at the stalk and in a weird way, cleaning it. I think when it opens up *fingers crossed* it will host the clowns which would be awesome.
