Clown Hoarder
After wiping the algae off the back glass of my tank (it is painted black), my clown started acting very weird.
1) He swims low to the sand and has never done that all the time before.
2) When looking into the reflection of the back glass he does the submission shaking motion and also does it when I get really close to the tank corner where he is at.
3) He has also started eating bristleworms (tiny babies) that become detached from the sand or rock and are carried into the water column with the current. This has never happened that I have witnessed except in the last few weeks.
Is this normal for clowns to go in mood phases? He is gaining his dark sides, so maybe this is the shift from juvenile to adult? I would guess he is 8-9 months old, as I have had him for 7 months. I have started shifting my lighting period, but I've left the lights on for extended periods (longer than the standard light period) to perform tasks late at night with no problems from the prolonged lighting.
The clowns diet is Formula 1 (frozen & pellet), Formula 2 (frozen & pellet), Prime Reef (flake) & mysis.
Any ideas????
