Tomato clown tapping glass

Hi Everyone,

My tomato clown female of 2 years has decided to start knocking on the front of the glass recently. She seems to be breathing, eating and swiming normally but whenever I or someone goes near the glass where she is at, she taps it with her mouth. I did notice a few scales missing or flakes on the rear of her body but wanted to see if anyone has experienced this?

Should I be concerned about it or should I be happy that she's having babies? My other tomato is doing fine and not exhibiting this behavior.

Thanks!!

TBH, it sounds like she is trying to attack you. :p

I have a tomato that gets very aggressive when it sees me in front of the tank. Mine doesn't actually attack the glass, but it tries pretty hard to bite me on the nose through the glass. lol

Bottom line is, I wouldn't worry about it as long as she's behaving normally in every other way.

On a side note... it would probably be smart to take care when placing your hands in the tank. If you don't, you may wind up with some nice clownfish bite marks.

yes, i wouldnt worry about it unlessy she really starts to hit the glass hard but if its just tapping, i think she will be ok.

Are you sure she is tapping the glass, or just clicking her jaws?

What I am thinking too. My pink skunk pair will "bark" at me if I stare at them too long.

My Tomato female blows kisses on the glas to lure me inside the tank. Then she attacks like a ravenous pihranna.

Just normal Tomato behavior, if there is suych a thing.

My female taps the glass when I'm near and fans the sand when I miss feeding time by too much. She flees when my hand enters the tank.

My male scoots away when your near the glass, but turns into a fierce little PITA when doing maintenance.

If they didn't do those things you should be worried. They are likely 2nd in line for the clown species with the worst attitude. I love 'em!
