Tomato Clownfish and Yellow Watchman Goby

Yesterday I purchased a small Yellow Watchman Goby, and had the unforseen displeasure of watching my Tomato Clownfish kill it within 10-15 minutes. The Tomato is hosting a Sebae anenome at the moment, and has other tank mates that he leaves completely alone. His tankmates are a small 6 line wrasse, a Blackray Shrimp Goby, a Scooter, and various inverts.

Why did this happen?
How can I introduce the yellow watchman successfully?

This is why you don't normally see tomoto clowns as an usual clown in many reef type systems.. just flat out aggressive.. even more so than the GSM's...

the watchman probably got to close to his territory and the tomato killed a fish that was acclimating to its environment and had no where to hide...

I would suggest acclimating any new fish with the lights dimmed or off.. and perhaps a hardier slightly aggressive fish instead of a more passive watchman..

The reason I got him, was he was nice, still is to his other tankmates. I had a pair of Ocellaris' but they weren't hosting so I got this guy. Hosted the Sebae in less than 30 minutes.

If I was to give him back to the LFS, what recommendation do you have for a relatively nice clownfish, that will host the Sebae?

I had a large female black ocellaris who fed a small watchman goby to an anemone so dont count them out for being aggressive

Well the tomato is gone, got an ORA True Perc, (Which has yet to host .... ) and another small yellow watchman. Everything is playing out much better this time around.

Got to give him time, took my perc and ocellaris a few weeks after adding a couple BTA's before they started showing interest.

The only good thing about tomatos is they do seem to go for nem's quickly even ones that are unnatural to them.

Wasn't even 20 or 30 minutes and my tomato was hosting. I have horrible luck with ocellaris's and percs :(

Here's to hoping?!

I don't think Percs normally host a Sebae anemone. They really like carpets, but will sometimes settle for a BTA.
