Jumping on the hybrid ethics bandwagon
I don't really have an issue with hybrids as long as they are handled responsibly and correctly labeled as such. Let's face it; where would the world be without mules?
I object more to breeders who (through poor breeding conditions, or random luck, or whatever) raise fish that differ substantially from the species holotype, and yet sell them as "true breed" fish. Those fish should be culled since they depart substantially from the holotype and would degrade the species over time.
Though I don't agree with the AKC in many areas, the way they support breed standards and conformation is one approach.
