Gotta chime in here... Killians is a Coors product. It is not an import.

yup your absolutely right....good call.......my bad.....but at least it has irish roots and it is crafted more like import beers than domestics......

that said, dont get me wrong, I really like some domestics I just dont think they are as good as most imports. then again, the worst beer i ever had was an import so who knows....

man, at the right moment, the beast will do the trick...

ugh corona. Sorry, I'm a Hoegaarden kind of guy... For another 2 months...

That's when I get my 2.5 gallon micro-brew setup rockin' and rollin', where I'll make Hoegaarden type wissebiers. Mmmm orange and coriander.. After that, who knows!?

Brilliant!!!!

That's it! Tear down those frag tanks in the garage and build a micro-brewery. Brewmaster Eric and his special Reef Wreck (see I spelled it right) Limited Edition Blasto Lager. Followed by his Superman Monti Pilsner...

Matt's the one with the frag tanks in the garage. This is only the best ghetto dorm-room brew. I've been having to drink grolsch (that I never really liked to begin with, but now I really hate) nonstop for a week to get the swing top bottles to do the secondary fermentation in (adds the carbonation to the beer without having to use expensive CO2 setup). It's actually cheaper to buy 12 bottles of swing-top grolsch than it is to order swing-top bottles from online beer sites. The sites want $30 for 12 bottles, versus Albertson's Grolsch, which was $8 or $9 for a 4 pack, meaning $24-$27 and the beer inside. I've got cases of redstripe sitting around, and havn't touched all the bottles of hard liquor that I got for my b-day because I've been on this disgusting Grolsch binge. It's for a good cause though :)

The first 2 sets of brewing "stuff" came today. It's either gonna be a Weizenbier, or a Witbier spiced like Hoegaarten, mentioned before. I've got a lot of homework (boooo) to do before I start brewing though, so it might be a few days. Then 3 weeks, then 2 weeks, and then my own special brews.

Gotta throw my .02 in here. I agree that Yungling & Sam Adams (one of their thousands of different brews) are the best domestic. Imports have a lot of variety, so its difficult to pick one, but I also do agree that New Castle is darned good.

we always liked beast ice tall boys

ahh man.....that just gross!! lol..unless of course its the right time.....

I actually have a poker buddy that loves the beast....this guy drinks the stuff cuz he likes it....we host poker parties and have killians, bass, new castle.....and he always brings his own 6 pack of the beast.....lol.....

LOL....sorry agios....I guess this thread did get a little hijacked...my bad....

I have to agree with you though....lemons and tomatoes and milk are out of hand.....

thats why we need to drink beer! lol...sorry couldn't help it.

Anyone know of any good places to drink micros? I'll even settle for just "not so mainstream" brews. I'm a big fan of trying new/different beers. I know of one place in Boca, Funky Buddha Lounge; it's actually a hookah bar, but has a fantastic beer selection. I head up to the Blue Anchor in Delray once in a while, as well. Great imports from England and soccer on 24/7.

theres a coffee shop in downtown fort lauderdale that has alot of nice micros, also fat kats down there has a big selection of beers, maybe 60 dif kinds if i remember.

ive had around 130 dif beers so far.. theres just sooo many to try! lol.

about 100 or so bottles in my collection so far.

hey flee, hows that budha lounge, i was going to head there 1 day with some friends, its a hooka lounge right?

Theres a nice lil place by UM called the titanic or something like that it's right next to the canes store right off US 1.

There is also Hops and Brewzzi. There are still 4 Hops Restaurants in south Florida. Brewzzi is in Boca. Gordon Birsch is in Brickell. If you go to Gordon Birsch, Ask for Nick. He is the brewmaster there. He will give a tour and will be there for any quesions. If you go to hope in either Pembroke Pines or The Falls, ask for John. He will do the same. They both make great beer.

Thanks for the info. I used to live in San Diego where Gordon Birsch is huge. I have been there many times (San Diego GB, that is). I'll have to go and get the tour in Brickell. Same for Hops.

Gasman, where is Stella Luna?

Bawla, Funky Buddha Lounge is best described as a lounge. It's a hookah bar, but also has a nice selection of microbrews, wine, coffees, and (I think) tea. Live entertainment frequently, in the form music and Open Mic. Very out of place for Boca...

Very out of place for Boca...

Then apparently you've never to the Kava bar right by Barrier Reef..... that place is out of place in Boca, and out of place in most of the world at large.... But they do have a HUGE fish tank in the back with some nice looking fish in it. Lots of algae too, but oh well.

And for the record, Kava is the most disgusting dirt water I've ever tasted before. It probably tastes how the smoke that comes off of your freshly-opened phosban media smells. Gross.
