anyone ever had one of these? what sort of behavior did it exhibit? I think I caught mine nipping at a brain. this in the only coral in the tank not happy now. also I just got a lawnmower blenny and have seen the Tomini taking a very strong dislike to it. chases it behind the clam or picks at it. Powder brown and Purple dont seem concerned at all.
these are not my photos, but are the fish...

Mine is a model citizen. I've had him for about two months now in a tank with plenty of algae. He picks all day at algae (doesn't do anything to the razor caulerpa, though). I haven't nocticed any extra curricular picking... Not that that means anything, though;).

well, that's good to know, I always get stuck with the exceptions. had that stupid foxface that ate a LTA! I moved the brain in hopes this might confuse the little bugger, so we shall see. Beautiful fish. wetwebmedia states they are hard to keep, but mine is an incredible picker and leavs some serious lip prints onthe glass when i get lazy.

Mine gets along with the hippo tang, foxface, and all the other little ones just fine. The only thing I see him picking on is the algae. I love this fish!!! We've had it for about 6 months now I think....

If you ever find anything that eats razor caulerpa, please let me know! I would upgrade in a heartbeat to keep from havin' to weed my tank 2-3 times a month.

Steve,

My Regal Tang eats razor caulerpa.... :)

I had a Scribbled Rabbitfish that took razor caulerpa out with prejudice, but then turned on other things (acans, zoas, etc.). My Diadema setosum (long spine urchin) devoured it, too, so I'd think smaller urchins might work. That was the longspined urchin that was ~8" in diameter, so not conducive to most reef tanks.
