Hi all, I am a newer member and just moved to the Cape area.
I have been logging my build so far here
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2495662

I'm going to start logging it here from this post on. :D
It is a 41g Fluval Osaka (plumbed) with a 20g sump and a 40g breeder fuge (to be added as soon as I can plumb it in.)
I'm shooting for SPS with some chalices in the shadows. And a few choice acans...Ok, I have so many I want, but I'm shooting for SPS.

Thanks for reading,
Tom:wavehand:

Nice build man. good job on the drilling and plumbing.

Thanks,
I wish I had set the box about 1/2 inch higher. It works silent but the water fall effect is limited.
Do you think the 10lbs of fine sand was a mistake? It sounded good in my mind at the time, but after considering it for a while I am second guessing myself. I covered it with 20lbs of coarse so I am hoping to not get a sand storm when I set up the power heads.

Cheers,
Tom

I would have probably recommended to stay away from fine sand especially if you want SPS and are going to have a lot of flow. I like the aquascape very nicely done.

If the sand becomes a problem you can always go bare bottom.

It works for me at the beach anyway.:eek1:

LOL, awesome.
The water is cloudy. Its been two days now but its slowly clearing. I am hoping it clears up and I don't get the constant sand storm. I'm going to post a picture soon.

cycle started,

cycle started,

Now I'm just waiting on the sand to calm down.
I worked on the return pump. Went to the store, got the thickest silicon bathtub mat they had, wrapped every surface of the dang pump and lined the inside of that chamber as well....
Now my kessil 150W is freaking loud! I can hear its faint whinnnnnnnnnnnnnn. That's going to be tricky.
I'm running the kessil and 1x24in ATI coral view & 1x ATI purple plus. I know I don't need them, and they will be replaced very soon (when I hang the halide)

Muhahahahaha..... just 1461 more hours and I can start stocking this baby! but I'm not counting. :bum:
