Tony B's 9ft 800 gallon sps reef system

Tank is looking great Tony, the colours are really starting to come out.
Whats your plans for stocking?, are you going to let what you have grow out or are you on the look out for more choice pieces?

Hiya,

Thanks for your kind words.

I'm possibly going to add a small selection of sps, some choice pieces ;)

I'm also after a large brain coral, maybe two. The tank is almost fully stocked, I've got some more fish on order which I might collect on Friday if they come in.

The plan is to let it all grow and just sit back and enjoy.....

awesome looking tank sir..love the length and width...also like the school of chromis..its always 50/50 with them. i hear about a dominate one killing the rest of the school off, also heard they school no problems..ive personally experienced both in different systems...

These are some really rough photos, the water is still cloudy from all the milliput so there's a white 'haze' in the water, which ruins the photos. Some of the first corals in their new home:

The tank's looking stunning Tony.
What's the rainbow coloured thing? Not seen one before. i think a trip to Essex may be in order when I actually get anywhere near starting up my new build.

Thanks for your compliments, you're welcome to pop over.

What coral are you referring to?

I think he referring at the 2:07 mark in the video. Its a doughnut coral. I cant be positive but it might be a Cynarina lacrymalis.

Ah yep, that's an acanthophyllia, it wasn't that nice when I got it but I've been lucky it's coloured up very well over the last 18+ months.

Yep, we are all super interested in an update. Do you have one for us?

Wife had an affair, we got divorced. I left the house. Tank is closed down.

I am opening a small shop, this will have a 5ft reef tank in it, I will start a build thread within the next few months in the sps section of this forum.

What a bummer. Sorry this happened to you.

Your reefing skills are top notch and I really like your 8-bulb combo.

What kind of shop will this be?

Thanks.....

It's a small shop that is predominantly going to sell corals, not much fish or dry goods. A mix of imported corals and frags that I will farm myself. If you're ever in the UK feel free to swing in for a coffee, I'm not a sponsor of this site so I can't really publicise it further on the open forum....

I can't wait to set up another reef tank, I've really missed the hobby! :D

Most definitely, thanks for the invite. I'm sure with your skills you will succeed with your new endeavour. And we all will get to experience a new tank build.
