Hey Richard,
I am just across the NC boarder in VA and heat index yesterday was 104. Don't think there is much relief here. Enjoy anyway :)

Home again....

Home again....

Yup, it was hot....record setting hot....but cool at night.....and had a good time.....rafting on the Nantahala river....fishing on lake Fontana....and just sitting in a cold creek.....

Bad news was, I found a steel pole in a parking lot with my truck....smashed the drivers side doors, came home all grey taped up....so have to get it fixed asap so I can get back to diving!

You should try some real fishing in Alaska Richard! ;)

Ahh yes...

Seward.....two years in a row, limited out on silvers, halibut and rock bass every day....and got a 40# king.....

is not really fishing there....is CATCHING....as fast as you can drop a hook, wham!

Stayed at the Army campground there, was really a nice place!

You shouldn't be using your truck for diving. Boats work better :)

Yeah...but kinda hard to push the boat to the ramp!:D

The Army campground is a really nice place, I love halibut fishing out of Seward but you're right it's more catching there than fishing. I'll have to send you a pic of my fishin' hole up on the Talkeetna river. My daughter caught a 65 lb King there the week before she left for the Navy.

65#...is a monster!

I would go back to Seward in a heartbeat.....so when you are ready to go...let me know!

I've been ready to go back since the day after I got here! Who did you go out with from Seward? If you haven't used them, I'd highly recommend Saltwater Safari, especially one of their salmon shark trips.

We had our own boat...the Army boat from ANC.....for 5 days.....little 18 foot aluminum with a Honda 150 on it......would fly down resurection Bay!

Those were good boats, as long as you stay in the bay. I like fishing out by the Fjiords though, nothing like trying to catch a salmon in the middle of an Orca pod!
