too many tangs?

Id hate to see what you consider a full tank. Your tank is beautiful but definitely looks full to me. Only 60 fish... Im planning on about 35 for my 600g.
I'm certainly not saying the tank is a 'light' load....but there is still a lot of swim area...no aggression, and the fish are doing great. Many of them were upgraded a year ago from my other tanks, some up to 7 years old. The change in some of those fish since moving to this bigger tank is UNBELIEVABLE! They are healthier, many have colored up (having lost color), not as shy, and tangs especially love the room.

However I like the natural look as found in the ocean as opposed to the packed to the gills look.
Thank you...that video is 1 year old...I just did a little re-aquascaping last night, and plan to do another video, this weekend.

albano, what are the dimensions of the tank? how thick is the acrylic?

acrylic tanks are clear as hell.
Tank is 96"x40"x27"h...5/8" acrylic ...custom built by...wait for it...GlassCages!

BTW... I feed them at least twice a day, sometimes 3x

I've got an 800 gallon tank, albeit fresh, and I can't imagine 47 tangs in it. I think it's full with 15 or so cichlids and sunfish lol.

Are you not concerned with bowing with only 5/8 inch acrylic across 8 feet?
NO...I previously had a 300g 96"x30"x24"h, 1/2" acrylic for 10 yrs. with no problems,(except slight warping of the top from the MH bulbs...use all LEDs, now).
I have a custom built Tenacor 48"x24"x27"h, 3/8" that is 20yrs old, emptied and refilled many times, and 4 other 1/2" acrylic tanks 48-72" long, all 27"h, all 8-15 yrs old...never a problem

Feeding every two days probably explains why many of the tangs are still small.

I had a 550 tank, and 47 tangs would be insane.
