Too many Yuma Mushroom...what do I do ?

I am new to the hobby, so fragging is a ways down the road. I hand feed my Yumas and they have exploded not only in size but numbers. There are about 15 on a single 4x6 rock. The size range from 1 in to 5 across. I would love to spread them out, but scared to frag it. They are not dropping anywhere, but growing underneath the rocks bottom side which is very hard to reach. I have stopped feeding them, and let them catch what flows in the tank....but now their little mouths are always open like baby birds when mom brings home the worm.... How can i manage this? Should I have them on the sand bottom, while attached to the rock they are on in order to spread ?

Are you sure those are yumas and not hairy mushrooms?

If you dont want them, you can always chisel them off and sell them, although thats a nice rock for any mushroom colony.

Take out the rock and place in a big bowl of tank water
Start chiseling them off one by one

Chiseling is the best way to go like everyone else said and no, those are not yumas. They are definitely a type of hairy mushroom

Hey griznock, I turn off my power head and drop a few Veggie pellets into each one once a week. Then three times a week I drop a mysis shrimp or two into them. They are so huge. Wish I could put something next to it to show you the size of it. That big one on the front is hitting 6 inches soon. You will see each one in a tight ball when feeding. Its the coolest thing ever.

just understand that you don't NEED to feed them. they have zooxanthellae to feed off of. If you stop feeding they'll slow down a little bit and it won't hurt them in the least.

I have the same shrooms, I cant get them to multiply at all. Only shroom I ever had that didn't multiply like crazy.
