Too much flow going to hurt my corals?

I have about 5600gph-5700gph flow in my 75g barebottom tank (one Koralia 4, one Koralia Magnum 7, and one Tunze 6065). I added the Koralia 4 tonight to try to deal with dead spots on the bottom. When the lights went off tonight, I peeked in to check the PE on my tri-color acro, and noticed that the polyps that extend from the tips were whipping back and forth like palm trees in a hurricane. The polyps at the very tips, by the way, only seem to come out after dark.

Is this too much flow? I don't have any of the powerheads directly pointed at the corals - at least not nearby.

No it's not too much flow. A contallable pump may help though to give them a breath here and there. My SPS is the same way, the polyps on the tips only come out after lights out.

Ok, thanks - it just looked like flow that I wouldn't be as happy to hang out in. But I suppose if the polyps extended, it's something it can handle! :)

I will typically use PE as a guide for having too much flow... When you have direct flow to the point where it effects/inhibits PE, you know you have too much... MJ's and similar pumps are bad about that... You can have too much direct flow where it starts to strip the flesh off of SPS...
