Too much polyp extension? (video)

Is it even possible? I've been getting crazy amounts of polyp extension on my ORA Birds of Paradise Coral. Almost to the point where it doesn't even look nice anymore. Not sure what's causing this, and not really sure what else to do at this point. In 15 years of keeping SPS, i've never experienced this before. Any ideas other than going out any buying a polyp nipping angel? Does anyone else's ORA BOP coral do this? :sad2:

lol! i have the same piece and i see mine extend like that only once every couple weeks. not really sure what causes it. i would say just wait it out and see what happens if its like that all the time

my ponape birdsnest has polyp extension like that, it drives me crazy because the polyps are whitish and it doesn't look that great at all. I actually like it better when just the moonlights are on because then I can actually see the colors haha

Thanks guys. At this point its just not very appealing. It looks like a brown ball of hair. You can't even see the yellow base color at all. It's already pretty high up under my 8 T5's. Perhaps i can try moving it to a lower flow area.

Possible po4 drop too quick I've read before
When I see pe like that I'll feed for some gut feeling reason it makes me feel better just in case possibly the coral is missing something and over extending for it

Interesting. I haven't done anything special to reduce phosphates and I'm not even running bio pellets, or GFO. Just water changes every 2 weeks and skimming and 2 part dosing.
