Excuse my ignorance, but what is the coral in the second pic? It looks like a cluster of Cynarinas.

Wow, great shots. Did you have to turn off the pumps to take pics from up above?

To get the best results you need to either turn off the pumps, have a clear "box" to break the surface and shoot photos through, or a camera housing that is made for underwater photography. Most people take top pics with the pumps off.
 
Some of the shots are above the water w/ some pumps off. for the others I use a sleeve that attaches to my camera for filters. I will take some shots of it.

I used photoshop for cropping but that was it except for the close-up of the brain on it I used auto fix.
 
Thanks for the tutorial. I always love seeing great pics and want to take some of my own. But when it comes to purchasing a good camera or upgrading reef equipment, I always choose the latter. I have a great tank...but of course only I can tell.
 
I depends on the camera you have. mine is a Cannon g3 and I got the sleeve on Ebay. I haven't ever had water get inside.
