Top down shots

Very nice pics. Especially with an iPhone. Love the Pink lemonade with the polyp extension. Did you feed prior to the shot?

Nice tank. Now we need to see the "ole mans"(other Jim) tank. Assuming he taught you a thing or two.

Thank you very much. The lemonade is one of my favorite acros I own. I don't go out of my way to feed my acros. That is just the way it looks most of the time.

He will probably have something to say about it, but his new system is sort of a work in progress. He doesn't a tank running at the moment, but he did help push me into this money pit of a hobby. :p

Thanks tru2nr. Here are some more pics, not all of these are top down this time. I'm still workin on getting some pictures of a few of my nicer pieces, as the leds are too bright. I'll post a few anyway, but my red dragon acro absolutely refuses to be photographed. -_-

*Yellow and green Toadstool Leather - This is the only leather I keep. It plays very well with SPS and you really just can't beat the color IMO.

*Royal Blue and Neon Orange Rhodactis Mushroom - This is my favorite Mushroom I have come across. Can't quite capture all of the blue in the base.

*Atlantis Becker's Tort - Despite my best efforts, I can't get a very good color representation out of this one. Seldom seen tort and a super slow grower. The tips are purple with a deep green base. It likes A LOT of light so it sits about 2" away from the surface.

I haven't started to get pictures of my chalices and acans. I still have a lot of different acros and sps that need to be photographed. I'm gonna use this thread to keep track of the growth that is happening in my tank. I know that I enjoy watching other peoples tanks grow and mature, so hopefully some of you will like to watch mine as well.

The 'ole tank. it's been gone for a few years.

Thanks a lot! They are on their way. I just raised my calcium level a little more in my water so I am hoping to see even better growth soon. Dosing by hand sucks, but there isn't much of a point to having a dosing system on a 50 gallon with no sump.

Ask and you shall receive. Here are a few for starters. All of these were grown from 3 eye frags less than a year ago. I have some new ones that I picked up at the lear swap. but those are all small right now.

*General top down on one area with a few different chalices. We have Pink Boobies, Miami Hurricane, Zepplin's Snake Skin, and Watermelon Chalice.

I have a few others in here, and my collection is always growing. Chalices are one of my favorite types of corals. I have at least five more types coming in the next month as well! These are just the first couple of pictures.

All I have to say is wow... I picked up a new chalice from Shawn (Lokikegs) this afternoon and just got it settled in the tank. Very large colony, but it is truly stunning in person. Under my ai sols it is blue with the neon green that you would expect from a watermelon chalice.

I plan on aquascaping the left side of the tank to make this the focal point on that side. This coral is too beautiful to cut, and is going to be allowed to grow out for a while. Thanks again so much Shawn!

Looks Great Jim, Those Eyes Really Pop Under Leds. Thanks Again For The Frags , There Color Looks Great

Thank you! I am very happy with it, and it seems to be settling in nicely. I wish I could get a good picture of it so you could see the color on the skin like you would in person under the leds.

I'm glad you're happy with the frags. We are gonna have to get together on the leptoseris very soon because now that we talked about it I'm itchin to get it.
