Topic of the Week - 3/7/11, What have you gained/learned from this forum?

Geesh! Way to sound like you know it all. Unbelievable. :)
On the internet, nobody can tell you know nothing -- Unless you tell them so. :)

Besides, topics are a far cry from answers. I can easily post a topic like "The effects of sunflower oil on zoanthid acclimation" and have no clue about what the answer would be.

Jeff

PS: I don't think the effects would be very good, so if you're silly enough to try it, don't blame me for the results. Oh, and post the results too.

:)I did, that's why you added the smiley face and I gave you one as well and a jitter bug dance

Thanks to all who replied last week to the first TOTW. Last week we spoke to the newbies, this week, lets address the newbies and OG's alike. Next week we will begin to tackle the meaty topics. If you want the TOTW to continue and will be willing to participate, please choose a  or a .

QUESTION - What have you gained/learned from this forum over the days, weeks, months or years since you've been here that has been vital and greatly contributed to your successful reefkeeping experience relative to zoas and palys?

To help increase the involvement by everyone here, if you have an idea for TOTW, PM me. Lets discuss it and you can post it and direct the flow of that thread. How bout it? Anyone?

OK, BACK ON TRACK :wavehand:

Jitter Bug, I love to do the Jitter Bug! Unfortunately I have two left feet and often step on my wife's toes, so she don't appreciate it very much :hmm2:. But, she's always willing to try again :spin2:.

 My time constraints limit my posting, unfortunately.
Great topic and nice information.

Fish and invertabrates that you can add and ones not to add, if you want your z and p's to stay around.

What polyps grow for many people and those that grow for a select few or not at all.

As previously posted (SirPatrick) 1+, how to inspect and dip newly purchased polyps.

Oh yeah, how to make them look pretty (flow, placement, lighting) so the wifey will like them and let you have a budget to buy more!

I learned that you have to be very Carrillo when picking fish to add to your system or good by zoas- ie take the warning "reef safe with caution" seriously

You guys have learned a lot from this forum, wow, thanks for sharing all of the great information and feedback above.

I've ask Friday Night and Kichimark to run the Topic of the Week and they have accepted, thanks guys. Please forward all future TOTW submissions to these gents and lets continue to support this thread/forum to make it the best it can be.
