Torch Placement

I'm just wondering were everyone places there Todds torch in the tank? Mine just never looks happy. Do they require more light less flow? More flow medium light? Mine is currently placed near the bottom about 4" off the sand bed.

I'd think that'd be as good a place as any. By now, there has to be one in every set of circumstances URS/STRS can come up with. I have mine up high, and if you ask me, it's getting a touch too much light. It is still a stunner IMO, but I think it's lost a little bit of it's amazing "Todd's" coloration by being so close to a halide. As far as flow, it's in mod flow and seems very happy.

Eight inches from surface with a 250 hqi blasting away at it. Random flow almost looks like a jelly fish swimming upside down. Lots of indirect flow and a wave box. I get great growth and polyp extension. Hope that helps.

mine is about 10" from top of water. has grown 2 new heads in 8 weeks. it's in mod flow

I have mine about 8" for the surface under 250W halides with plenty of random flow. Problem is, it hasn't grown at all in 6 months. I've moved it a couple times but still can't get it to grow.
