Touching Anemones

This may come off quite weird... but I have a theory that anemones actually do like being touched....

My purple haddoni wasn't looking too good after shipping: deflated, not sticky, not responsive to light. And it continued this way for maybe 5 or 6 hours, even after it had the bubbler and acclimation.

So I got the notion to somewhat stroke it's foot. The way you would a puppy if it wasn't doing well... and it worked?

Has anyone else "pet" their anemone's foot?

I'll get a couple photos uploaded so you can see the difference...

Just because you did something then something else happened does not mean what you did cause that something else to happen. You need a lot more to show causative effect.

I have no problem touching my mag or bta but my haddoni is a savage and I try my best not to even bump him. He sticks so crazy on you I'm afraid of pulling him out the tank.

I have touched a not so hot looking nem and it responded by looking better but I'm guessing its just a it feels threatened so its putting itself in a less vulnerable position. Doesn't mean it won't go back to looking like a pile of poo later if its infected.

I just tried to get a piece of whatever off my purple haddoni and he was so sticky he stuck to my glove to the point where I pulled away quickly and took some tentacles. Sticky buggers they are
