With some of the big boys missing, I though this year would be a bit lame. Love him or hate him, no Contador, no andy schleck, no Ivan Basso, no Thor Hushovd, Cav has no team support like last year (not on team with Mark Renshaw).

But each stage has been VERY exciting. Peter Sagan is having a huge year. Gripel hanging in there. Tejay Van Gardren is giving the yanks someone to root for.

I was really shocked to se Wiggo beat the likes of Martin and Cancellara. Really impressed. Also shocked that Cadel didnt do better.

I love this stuff even if I'm just a wanna be cyclist.

Actually is Basso in the tour? Haven't heard his name once. Probably because Niballi and Sagan are getting all the press.

I'm pretty sure I have seen Basso. He's harder to spot drug-free. I'm surprised by Wiggins too. Unfortunately ever since Landis and some others I'm apprehensive to trust a rider that suddenly becomes dominant. Sure, Wiggins was good but nothing like what we've been seeing. I hope he's clean but I'll wait a week until I can be comfortable cheering for him. The sideburns are awesome though. Evans is a great but frustrating rider. He usually screws things up for himself. Look at the last few tours besides last year. He could have beat Contodor one year with a better time trial one year and there have been other years where if he climbed smarter he could have won.

Wiggins has been one of my sleeper favorites for a while so this is definitely exciting. Really sad that Andy isn't in it though.

To your point with the big names missing - it has definitely made it more exciting. With no predefined set of cleear winners it's a little bit of anyone's game (hence riders like sagan and wiggins doing so well).

Wiggo's been havin quite the year, so this hasn't been a total surprise. I do love seeing some of the young guns being more prominent. Denny Menchov should never be counted out. He's a name to watch. Maybe not to win, but to cause trouble. Agreed about Cadel.

As much as I hate Contador, seeing him dancing on his pedals on 12% climbs is a wonderment, clenbuterol or not. And not having the agression of the double headed monster known as the Schleck brothers also leaves something lacking.

Still WAY enjoyable this year. Enjoying it thoroughly. Wife still hates it. Thank God for the "50 shades of grey" trilogy. She reads that while I watch the Tour.

As everyone has said with no big names it is certainly different and it is so sad we all deep down wait to cheer for someone because there is over an 80% chance they are doping.

Another goodun' today. Forgot to put voekler and chavonell (sp?) on my list of people to watch. Those 2 are some crazy frenchies on their home turf and have the skills to pull off a shocker at any time.

Having fun with it. Great tour as usual!
