tr1ggers Fluval Spec V Pico!

Added a few new pieces to the SPS end of the tank.

Sixline Wrasse was re-homed to a friends 290. The bioload was a bit much for the tank to handle and was causing some nitrate issues but All seems to be well.

thos sps are doing so well in there! has the acan morphed colors at all under the led?

Thanks!

They have a bit, but I believe they were getting too much light. I can tell a difference in how much green there is. They are being shaded more now so I hope to see more greens coming back.

Everything looks amazing in here!

Could ya give us a FTS? lol

I was wondering what the Kessil looks like over this thing as I'm looking to upgrade the light on my lil 5g.

I am really really happy with the Kessil. If you have the money to blow on a light, go for it! :)

tr1gger I registered just so I could bug you with some questions. I have freshwater experience and currently several nano tanks. I am new to saltwater so the past few months I have been referencing your original post. This Fluval will be my first saltwater experience. I bought all the same equipment as you but I am wondering about filter media. The foam seems so, much? What are you using back there? Money is also an issue with me so I was so happy to stumble on your post. You are saving me cash by allowing us to see exactly what worked for you. Thank you so much!

Nice man good to hear you are still with us haha.. yeah you seem to have it down keeping sps in such a small volume. Post up a build thread once you start the 40g too I am sure it will be great!

I removed the stock filtration and run an AC20 on the back. Inside is just a sponge and carbon. Thanks for following the thread!

Yulp still here just busy! SPS in a small tank is a lot fun. Just added a deep pink milli, superman monti and a green with purple undata. Somewhere around my 45th coral LOL.

Dosing about 2.5ml of alk a day now.

Tank looks great tr1gger! Instead of using the powerhead have you thought about just using a upgraded return pump instead? I have the turbojet instead of the stock pump and it definitely moves a lot water compared to stock, my SPS loves it.

I have a mini jet 606 (153gph) as the return, I notice water wasn't really moving down the other side of the tank thus the power head. Maybe some locline to center the return would help...

The little nozzel that comes with the spec v inhibits flow greatly, take it off and see how much a difference it makes...be careful though it is strong enough to push water over the edge of the tank on the other side since you have the minijet like me.
