transfering tanks

would it be alright to transfer fish and rock tank from one tank into another with live sand thats been in there for 3 years and all new water ?

I think most people will tell you to ditch the sand, or maybe just keep the the top inch of it if it's DSB.
I believe bottom sand could have toxins if 3 years old.
All new water not good either, keep as much as you can, at least half.

yeah i would use atleast half the water. with the rest you should be good to go.

the sand has been in another reef tank running it just moved from tank to tank. essentially im taking my 75 gal and putting everything into my 125gal

Is the 125 all new or are you running both at this time?

125 was moved from one house to mine it was running at both houses

You should be able to use the sand, but it would be a good oportunity to clean it out. Keep a couple of cups aside and remove and rinse the rest after everything else is out of the tank. The couple of cups will re-seed it.
