Ian was pretty cool when we were up there
Yeah was going to be 3/4" hahah
Glad it was 1/2"... we had to flip the tank to get it into the office in our house... not easy with even 4-5 people.
My wife got mad at me for not helping on that bit. I think I just freaked a bit and took a step back to make sure it wasn't going to get dropped. Doesn't really make sense to me now... just what happened...
LOL! When we moved ours into the house as we were lifting it up onto the stand my suction cup let go. I almost crapped my pants. Luckily the guy right next to me was my tough as nails construction buddy and he took all the weight of our end while I re suctioned it back on at warp speed. It was CRAZY. No time to think while its all going down either.
Any idea when you're supposed to get your hands on the new tank?
They started building it in the beginning of June and I think the silicone needs to cure for 2 weeks or so. I am guessing sometime in July maybe. And thats ok, because we have a big mess to clean up with a new display stand to build and some new obstacles to maneuver around. The rock glued together with 9 sticks of JB water weld has me worried, I was going to dremel it apart with a cut off wheel but now I am thinking hammer and sharp chisel. We don't want the cut off wheel fragments flying around everywhere into the rock and sand. We also need to figure out what to do about the two 100g water storage tanks now that we have to lower the sump stand. They wont fit underneath the sump anymore, might have to put them in the basement with a pump and set up a switch in the fish room or something. We didn't want anything in the house besides the display, but we may have to sacrifice on that one. There's just not enough room in the fishroom.
I have been putting this tank project off and focusing on a few other projects for the time being. Hopefully we can get everything figured out and accomplished soon and quickly though.
