Treating angels with ich

I have recently moved all my livestock to a 65gallon because a few fish were covered in ich, I am treating with cupramine at 0.25 and going to let the display sit fallow. I separated my juv emperor angel in a 40gallon by itself because I know they are copper sensitive. I am wondering how can I treat the angel because it has a bit of ich? Also i have a porcupine puffer that is in the 65gallon with cupramine he is eating but staying on the bottom of the tank most of the day and is covered in ich. Do you think I should isolate him with the angel in the 40gal or keep treating with copper.
Thanks for all you help really appreciated

I treated my 5" adult Emperor with cupramine for 14 days with no issues. I also treated my Blue Ring, Majestic, Passer, Coral Beauty and Eibli angels at the same time.

All are fine after treating for 14 days. The instructions say the final copper concentration is 0.5 mg/L. Why are you targeting 0.25?

Thanks for the response i am treating at .25 because i have read on a few different forums and sites that puffers are copper sensitive and should be half dosed. As for the angel its about 2" and i have lost an angel before due to giving full dose of cupramine so i didn't want to risk it again

I just had 2 deep water butterflys not be able to handle copper. Looked bad. Waterchanges andpulled copper out with polyfilter carbon Etc. started on chloraquin phosphate and much better now

Okay I decided to take the puffer our of the cupramine and put in the 40gallon he is doing much better swimming around and eating great so i think i am just going to leave him in the 40 with no treatment and see where it goes. Never heard of chloraquin phosphate where do you get? I have also heard that malachite green and formalin will help with ich and is alot more sensitive what do you think?
Thanks

Does he have ick now?? Cp you can get from national fish pharmacy or that site that sell cipro and other antibiotics fishmox. Also can go to spectum chemical company direct

He is doing really well swimming around i am feeding him shrimp with garlic and zoe, I can see a little bit of ich on him but it is very faint and the angel doesn't have any ich. I was thinking to just keep up with daily water changes and let the ich die naturally with no meds. I also have just noticed that the foxface in the 65 seems really stressed all black in the corner of the tank. Are foxface copper sensitive?
Thanks

That is good news that your PP is acting better and eating. Remember that Ich goes through life cycle phases. The host fish are still present and unless you do something to interrupt their life cycle of the Ich parasite they will return.

You said that your DT is fallow. Do you intent to keep if fishless for 11-12 weeks?

Your 40G that houses your PP and EA, is it a bare bottomed tank? Are you employing hypo salinity? If so, are you ensuring the salinity in your 40G is maintaned at exactly 1.009? Are you using a properly calibrated refractometer? If you cannot answer yes to all these questions, then the improvment in your PP is likely temporary.

Ich is not going to die naturally. The fish that survive it will build up immunity, and then reinfect your DT and other fish the next time they are stressed.

FWIW, back on 9/21/2014 I had another round of ich in one of my 250G DT's. I was also battling dinoflagellates in that tank, so I decided to nuke that system and start over.

I had a 5" adult Emperor, and adult Blue Ring, Majestic, Passer, Coral Beauty and Eibli angel in that tank, along with a maroon clown, marine betta, a yellow foxface, a rabbitfish, 5 PJ cardinals, a PBT, a Sailfin tang, a harlequin tusk and an adult red coris wrasse. I treated all these fish with a 15 day round of cupramine with absolutely no issues. (Well, I did lose my HT because he jumped out of one of the tanks when I left the safety net off)

All these fish are doing fine and swimming happily in my frag system and my QT's. The cycle on my DT is almost complete, and I plan on slowly reintroducing the fish to the tank this weekend.

We have many of the same fish types. I would guess that your foxface is just being shy in his new home.

Hopefully my experience helps you.

Thanks for the response I really appreciate it.
Yes i do plan on keeping the dt fallow.
Inside the 40g there is the pp, ea, foxface, sixline wrasse and cleaner wrasse. Yes it is barebottom with just a few piece of live rock to stabilize ph. I haven't started hypo but would like too how long should it take for me to lower the salinity for 1.024 to 1.009? And long do i keep them in hypo?
Yes i have a refractometer.
The fish in the 65g are 3 damsels,2 clowns, 2 sailfin tangs,2 threadfin bf,naso, yellow tang, yellow mimic tang, 3 orbi bats, picasso and niger trigger, bicolour dottyback and firefish.
They all seem to be doing fine and eating and have not seen any ich for 2 days now and the cupramine is 0.25
My 180g dt salinity is at 1.024 because there is a couple starfish, crabs, lobster etc.
I plan on eventually moving the inverts to a separate tank and lower the salnity in the 180g to 1.018. Is it safe to the lower the salinity to 1.018 in the 65g while treating with cupramine? Lastly i spoke to my lfs owner who is very well knowledge and he told me he just keeps his salinity at 1.018 for ich and does go down to 1.009 and doesn't use any meds.
Thanks for all your help

Is the emperor angel and puffer sensitive to hypo at 1.009? Also when i drop the salinity do i use just rodi or do i mix the rodi with salt to 1.009?
Sorry to hear about the harlequin tusk its a sad day when we lose our friends
