Treating ICH in 215 display

I had a bad hair algae outbreak in my 215 gallon display. I also been living with ich in the tank.

I decided to sell off all my coral, remove all my live rock to "cook" in a brute trashcan with heat/pump for the next 72 days while the hair algae dies and ich dies.

I left the sandbed and put some pvc fittings for hiding spots for my fish

Scopus tang
Yellow tang
Niger trigger
Humu trigger
Melanurus wrasse
2 clownfish

My plan to is to treat with copper power for 3-4 weeks. And then after treatment run carbon for another 4 weeks.

Then reintroduce the live rock that's been "cooking"

My questions are...

Can I run my skimmer with the copper?

Can I run my uv sterilizer with the copper?

Is cupramine better as in easier to remove and not absorb into my tank?

How bad of an ammonia spike will I have now that I removed all the live rock?

Would it make more since to just do hyposalinity?

What are you using as a bacteria source to handle ammonia? Safe to assume your tank has no sand? I would not use a UV with copper.

My post says I have sand...

No UV with copper? Ok. Wasn't sure.

I have bioballs in my sump.

Which is why I am going to treat the tank with copper..

If you treat the tank with copper just be warned you won't be able to add corals ever again. Copper will stick to the silicon seals.

Best route: remove all fish to qt and treat.
Leave tank fishless for 72 days. Corals and inverts should be ok. If you have a severe algae problem, test for phosphate and try to get that down to the teens or lower. There is also Reeflux, which can solve an algae problem given careful attention to chemistry and a good skimmer to transport the dieoff out of the water
Personally I am not a fan of copper in general. Use it meticulously ONLY in the qt.

I have had ich for years. Idk

I would just continue to live with it. Not worth the risk of losing all
Your fish. If it's under control don't worry about it.

I have a great opportunity to get rid of it. It has claimed new fish that I have added. Probably becuase they are stressed and low immune system. I don't want a tank where I can never add new fish without the risk of death.

My plan is to go with copper power and hanna high range checker.

Again I removed all inverts, coral and LR. All that's left is sand bed. I will turn off my UV and continue to use skimmer. Since I am using copper power I will use Prime to manage ammonia spike.

Not worried about not being able to add coral. Just going to a fowlr when this is over with.
