I was just noticing that a lot of the zoas frags I bought are still there but not spreading. Those plain brown and green ones are crowding them out. I hope this might cause them to spread. I also have another cluster that has some faded colors, maybe this will make them perk up.

The plain ones spread with no help of their own I take all responsibility for things that happen in my tank.

I think I need to harvest some of them to make room for nice ones.

So I have been reading this thread and been having some problems with my zoos that I've had for well over a year suddenly closing up and I'm giving this Vitamin C thing a shot.

I didn't see anyone mention this before so I am curious is anyone dosing VC is also dripping limewater. The reason I ask is since I started dosing VC I have been keeping an eye on my KH and I have actually noticed it has gone up from 7.5-8.0 to 8.8-9.0.

I am wondering if this has anything to due with the weak acid interacting with the -OH from the limewater. I'm not a chemist so I am curious if this makes sense to anyone who knows about chemisty.

Also, what ppm amount of VC has everyone seen the best results at?

Ahhh thats what I was waiting to see! So higher doses didn't make much of, if any, difference?

By any chance are you going to go down less then 13ppm? Or are you going to stick to that?

LOL, I'm lazy & it's easier to just dose the tsp. 1/2 tsp seems to work well for my 40g too. I'm still concerned about new zoas/palys I get, which is pretty often. Plus, if it ain't broke...

So is this the recommended brand/type/form by concensus among you regular users?

I'm curious to give this a try in a couple of my tanks to see if it makes a difference.
