I've actually got rid of my chaeto since I've been dosing Vitamin C simply because it wasnt growing much and it got slimed up by the slime stuff. I also believe the slime is due to overgrowth of bacteria. I'm still dosing now and no longer have the slime.
is it ok to add new fish and corals while dosing vitamin c, since they're not really being acclimated to it over time like the rest of the tank inhabitants? i'm assuming it should be no problem, if it is should i stop dosing for a day or two so all the vitamin c will be gone and then start from the beginning? thanks
Meep? Yes it is fine, I'm always adding/moving fish in & out of my tanks. As long as you use the buffered VC, the pH should not be affected. Always acclimate anyway though.
I just ordered the buffered VC from iherb.com on thursday so it should be here within a few days. I hope i can save the remaining zoanthids i have left. I had another melt down and lost quite a few zoas this time so i'm hoping the VC is a turn around for them like i've been reading about in this thread.
This is the "I've been released now and so I'm back" bump.
(released, lol)
But seriously, thanks for your help Pufferpunk, you rock.
Talk to you later.
I'm in. Ordered 2 bottles last night. Some zoas currently melting, while others are thriving. Gonna try 1 tank for a month 1st, then maybe the 2nd one.
I'm going to do a mini experiment and stop dosing for a month and see what happens even though I just got a couple new bottles with Puffy in a mini group order. I'll report back if/when the tank dies .
