Pufferpunk,
I'm still stuck on the math, but I think I got this figured out. Based on the chart that has been floating around here it shows dosage for 100 gallons. I made a second chart that is based on 20 gallons which should be 1/5th or 20% of the 100 gallon chart. In order to measure 1/5 tsp, I did as your suggested and used the blue measuring spoon that comes with the Salifert test kit. It takes 5 of those little spoons to equal 1/4 tsp.
So to maintain a 5ppm of VC I would need about a spoon and a half (blue Salifert spoon). How does this sound to you or am I just being paranoid? I don't want to be adding more to my tank then I think by using the wrong measurements.
I also just received my bottle of VC, the one you recommended and I'll start dosing in a few days. I just received some new zoas in the mail today from a RC member and I want to see how they react before adding the VC.
1/5th of 1/4 tsp=222.4 mg.
(Use the blue measuring spoons that come with a Salifert Kits)
For every 20 gallons:
5 ppm ----- 378.4 mg VC
10 ppm ---- 757 mg VC
15 ppm ---- 1075 mg VC
20 ppm ---- 1514 mg VC
25 ppm ---- 1892.4 mg VC
30 ppm ---- 2271 mg VC
Dose 2x/day.
