Tricks to clam attachment?

I've had Derasas before, but would like to try a Crocea clam. I've never had any luck getting my clams to stay on the rock work long enough to attach. With a Crocea this is more important due to the increased need for light.
Anyone have any tips on how you can persuade the clam to attach to the rock? I've always come back to find mine had moved themselves until they were down in the sand. I certainly don't want them to get hurt banging down over the rocks.

if your water chemistry is good and you have plenty of light then the clam will do it on its own. no tricks that i know of.

i have used small rocks to keep a clam upright in a general area long enough for it to attach. just have to make sure they can open fully and it shouldnt take to long.

You can use a half a scallop shell uder it to attach then you can place it where you think it's best. I have 2 maximas one has attached to the shell and the other has never attached to anything in 2 or 3 years. It has put on a sold inch or so of size in this time also.
