trigger acting strange

My blue throat has always been very outgoing and visible and a fairly aggressive eater. The last few days I've noticed that he hides a lot and isn't getting as excited about food as he used to. he is still eating but not as much. should i be worried about the unusual behavior?

Haven't changed a thing in a long time. I added a copperband butterfly yesterday but it's in the frag tank and he was acting strange before that.

I got a couple more questions for you ;)

What have you been feeding him? Have you tested your water lately?

I have a blue throat and he demonstrates some of the same behaviors. While he has a voracious appetite, he goes through stages where I won't see him much for a few days...then he is out and about - social as ever. If yours isn't eating, I would check parameters and/or vary your food a bit.

I haven't tested the water, i'll do that tomorrow. I feed mostly frozen mysis, formula one flakes, and frozen clams every now and then. I used to feed frozen krill and haven't in a while just because i ran out. Maybe i'll try some different foods. thanks for all the advice/questions.

I found him dead in the bottom of the tank when i got home from work today. I knew something was wrong. :( This is the first established fish I've lost in 2 years so I'm not used to it. I keep forgetting my test kits at work, but I'm fairly certain the water is fine. All other fish are doing well and I've always had perfect water parameters. I'm gong to try to convince myself he died of old age. He was about 6 inches long and was pretty big when i got him a year ago.
