Trigger spits out mysis shrimp, what else will he eat that is meaty?

My Trigger eats new life spectrum pellets just fine, but I want him to also have something meaty, because he is so little. He always spits out mysis shrimp, so I'm concerned he may not be getting what he needs.

He eats plenty of the pellets twice a day, 12 hours apart, and he isn't pinched or skinny.

Do I really need to be concerned, or is the pellets enough?

Most pellets have some form of protein in them, so he is probably getting some protein from them.

If you want him to get some meat, try throwing a fresh clam on the half shell in the tank with him. I haven't met a trigger that can resist that. You can get them from the grocery store in the seafood section...

Get some Rods Original, Predator or Fish Only.

My blue throat loves silversides. I hang them from a nori clip. If I do not get out of his way quickly, he will taste my finger.

Maybe try dry krill from an Asian market... But clam or oyster's a good idea!
