Tristian's Reef : 325 Gallon Build Prbly Flooding the Floor Again...

I actually have an external fuge. I'm using the fuge in the crystal sump as a "œcryptic fuge" only real live ocean rock

Finally got a good shot of my newest addition to the reef. It's singularly the most expensive fish I have ever purchased!

In addition I got rid of the following fish to my lfs. Unfortunately with this volume I can't take a chance with fish on the fringe. So I waved goodbye to my

Potter's Angel
Coral Beauty
2 Sixline Wrasses
Flame Angel
African Flameback
Pearly Scale Jawfish
Grey Headed Wrasse
Christmas Wrasse

The jaw fish and last 2 wrasses could have stayed but they were larger than I wanted. I was afraid that they would eat my shrimp. I'm going to get 1 bluestar leopoard wrasse male and 2 females and look forward to them being in my tank.

My last fish will be a pair of Flame Wrasses if I can find them.

Figure I would throw these guys up here as well. I now have 10 of them in my tank. Easily the most active and attractive of all my dither fish!

Tristian's Reef: 350 Update THE BEAST IS BORN Fish & Corals

Its been a little while since I showed an update of my new build. I finally felt comfortable that everything wouldn't die and shot some highlight footage.

Wow great build, congrats. I have a quick question How is the Kessil A80 Tuna Sun, I am building a IM Lagoon 25 no rear chamber so I have a Eshoop Nano sump and I was thinking about getting that light to grow some cheato do you think that would work?

It's actually the tuna Flora that I use for my Refugium. But it's absolutely great for growing my chaeto. It think it would work great for your Refugium.

In this episode I give a breakdown my my Cryptic Refugium, Plant some Mangroves and try out a cool feature of my Crystal Reef Aquatics sump. I'm excited to try growing these little trees in my sump and I hope that in addition to perhaps raising and keeping my PH high that they will extract and eat up any stray nutrients in the tank.

I have been looking to get some good quality live rock for my fuge as well. Can you provide the link / contact you ordered from?

Awesome content! I only had time for a video or two, but I look forward to watching the rest and subscribing. I almost got an AGE 300 last year (but instead got another daughter! :lmao: ). I am sure that you will love that thing! I am excited to get caught up with your progress and to learn what you will be using regarding lighting, filtration, CA and ALK supplementation, and such.

Keep it up!

Any tips for creating your YT channel and series? Id really like to do something similar as I setup my new tank.

Honestly? Lol I'm not a pro youtuber and I'm not even sure anyone here is actually viewing my videos or content. Feedback is important and I'm thankful that some of the viewers have provided some.

As for tips -

Grab a Camera, PolypLab Filter Kit, and start making videos. Dosen't matter if theirs production value or not behind the video people just enjoy watching videos of cool tanks and following ppl with their journey in to Reef Stardom.

I'd interact with your viewers if possible to keep them engaged with your content and definitely keep up with your build thread as well.

Last but not least have fun. Your doing this for you and sharing your experiences good and bad. Forget the haters that like to play keyboard warrior and probably can't keep sand alive. I always thank everyone for their positive criticism and if I don't agree and go in another direction I do acknowledge where there may be other options but since its my tank, my pocket, my success and my failure, ultimately your suggestion is just a suggestion :)

Been snapping a few pics of the reef it's looking great!

Tristian's Reef: Crystal Reef ATO - The ReefMadre

In this episode I finally get rid of the ugly ATO bucket that I had been using as an ATO Container. I also have a bad encounter with "The Madre" regarding a little spill while refilling the bucket.

Along with her 2 Goons especially "Big Mike" I learn a lesson in flooding floors, baby sharks, and generally find out what torture is like with sound.

Tristian's Reef: A Case for Phyto

In this episode I describe the reasons that I started dosing home grown Phyto and the equipment that I use to accomplish this!

I'm in the process of setting up a similar size tank and was wondering is there anything you would have done differently now that your 6 months in? I was planning to build a stand and sump but after looking at the Framing Tech stands and the Stealth sump I'm rethinking. I was quoted $3K for a steel/powdercoated stand plus shipping which made me lean tords DIY.
