Triton method and water testing

Sample sent out a few days ago and I can't wait. I also got in the potassium i ordered in powder form what a pain in the butt to figure out what to dose. It tells you to dose in grams and I don't have a scale so I had to convert to Mls.

Michael,
Test IS done in Germany, Unique sends them over in bulk.
Since your $400 comment & fact you had a powder to navigate I thought I would show you what I use to measure.

Like it was said, this is just another tool in the arsenal of reefkeeping.
I have yet to send mine in.

I didn't no they sent them back to Germany for testing, interesting. thanks for the link greatly appreciate it. Well as soon as I get my results will post the results. Let's see how it goes as it aot cheaper than all the test kits I buy that's for sure.

Aquarium village just announced they are triton vendors for LI now. They have the packets in store in case anyone was thinking of trying it out.

So we're sending our vials to California from NY only to have them shipped all the way back east and to Germany to perform the testing? Guess I'll find a more local lab as I don't plan on using the Triton supplements.

Hey Bill must ask does the quality of the water change while in transit ?

So I have been reading for a couple days now none stop, about my results and what some of the causes could be to the numbers. I must stop adding IoDI+ as my levels are through the roof. This would explain the crazy algae growth in my tank and not to mention that my greens in my SPS are crazy intense.

As for the lithium, I have been told that this could be from ESV calcium two part or from ceramic or aluminum I don't have either near or in the tank with the exception of some frag plugs that are made from ceramic.

Water changes have been recommended to me for my situation and the stopping of some of the additives that i use. So I am going to take this advice and follow it for four months and send water out again. I will continue to test my water with the normal kits I have just to make sure nothing gets crazy.

I will continue to use reef crystals from what I see from all the online studies and water analysis done its a good over all salt.

I am so happy that I sent my water to them as this was amazing to see what My water has and doesn't have. With elevated levels of iodine it causes several problems like stn at the base and all types of algae on the sandbed and rock work as this feeds it.

Now I suggest to any of the members of the club that are serious about reef keeping to get there water tested.

I thought for a while I was doing things correctly but it turns out I have been over doing it in some areas. Its the little over doing that in the long run will just keep you guessing what is wrong and you just don't know until you have your water tested professionally.

I will continue to document all that I do from now until the next water testing I send out in about 100 days to see if the little changes I make are for the better.

So if you spend the money for the test. I can see being able to add stuff to bring things up..
What if you can't seem to bring something bad down?
If you start doing water changes to fix one do you end up in a whack-a-mole situation?
I wouldn't mind spending the money to get tested but not sure if I'll actually be able to fix some of those.
