Trochus snail breeding

Has any one had this take place in their tank? I keep seeing baby trochus snails every couple of months, starting to have an over abundance of them. They seem to be prolific breeders. Any way to curb it?

Are you sure they are in fact trochus snails & not collonista snails? These will breed quite readily in our tanks as well.

Had banded trochus spawn after almost every water change, especially in the evening. Free snails even though only 3-4 would live to mature.

I realize this thread is over 2 years old but rather than start a new one just wanted to add to this one.

I believe I have been having babies.. in the last 3 weeks I am been finding these guys on my filter socks when replacing them. What do you think? Baby Banded Torchus?

Oh.. they look bigger in the pictures.. these guys are only about 1/8 - 1/4 inch.

Yours are probably collonista snails.

IME, Trochus are the snails that breed the most prolifically in our tanks.
Unique Corals used to sell them from their coral systems, I got some years ago and still have plenty, old and new.
My favorite all around snail always.
