Trochus snails upside down

I added 24 new snails to my 265 gallon display yesterday and they filliped over almost right away. I turned them back towards the glass or rocks, but today upside down again. All of them. They are still alive and will actively thrash around to flip back upside-down if I right them. They were drip acclimated. Any ideas?

Maybe they came from the Southern Hemisphere and are used to being "upside down"? Did you ever think of that?

Certainly explains those Aussies.

Try putting them on the rocks. My snails did not like being thrown on the sand except the cerith snails. The others didn't seem to like the feel of the substrate. Perhaps this is due to the fact that they were kept in a BB at the LFS... I dunno. Mine don't really venture far from the rocks or side of the tank. :)
