True Union Connection Frequency

How often can these be disconnected before you have issues. I'd like to use them on my drain lines so that I can have a down tube that's below the sump water line but I'll need to disconnect them at least weekly to change filter bags.

The only thing that can happen is that the O-ring compresses over time. Easy enough to just replace it though.

Thanks. That's good news since it will allow much greater flexibility with the drain and sump.

Though try to avoid excessive use of unions as they do present an additional 'opportunity' for a leak.

Actually I'm in the opposite camp on this one. I use them anywhere I may want to make changes in the future and on both sides of the return pump. Never had one leak. Way more issues with Bulkheads
