Trying not to panic.

So I've successfully kept my H Cripsa even after my clowns killed each other, and he was taking up half my tank (Small, in process of upgrading 35gal to 90 gal...) and then today I go and move a rock and tear his foot cause I didn't know he was attached...

I've got water getting ready to put into a 5 gal for him, low light area, covered power filter (Smallest we have, it's for a 20 gall...) and will have aged water ready everyday for 90% water changes as needed.

Am I missing anything? I don't have anti-biotics and wont have any sadly. But I'm hoping I wont need them....

It might heal on its own, but it's susceptible to infection because of the tear. What do you mean "and wont have any sadly", can you not go ahead order some just in case? Ebay, fish flox 500mg.

Anyways, good luck!

No money at this time, with Xmas and bills wont until after the new year. But, I'm hoping I wont need any, he's open again in the QT, mouth closed but relaxed, and he's fully inflated enjoying the current; death grip on his rock, never lost contact with it, so the rock went with him. I'll keep him in QT with water changes to reduce the likely-hood of infection.

Gotcha, it would suck to lose it but I think family comes first as well. Especially this time of year, no? :)

Two observations/comments: First, I wouldn't rush to treat prophylactically just because of the tear without any sign of infection. Let the nem try to heal on its own first. Second, IMO it is a bad idea to put the nem into QT if you are not going to treat. The unstable and unnatural conditions of a treatment tank without medications will surely do more harm than good. If you do not have the ability to treat, the best thing you can do for an injured nem is leave it undisturbed and provide the best, most stable conditions possible - which only a mature DT can provide. I just don't see what good can come of yanking the thing into a treatment tank without treatment.

+1. I would also add that one should not keep an animal unless they have the means to properly care for it, which includes, in the event of illness, medicine and veterinary care. Cipro is $30.
