Anyone think of any reason not to try these out. There is an Asian market about 3 doors down from one of my LFS's in the same strip mall, so I decided to stop in there today. found two different types of seaweed.

Wel-Pac Hijiki Dried Seaweed.

Nice thing about this stuff is it is in dried strands. I can crunch it up into flake-like pieces and put it into my morning feed cup.

Also Picked up some nori sheets. I hope it doesnt matter that is says they are roasted.

10 large sheets of nori for $2 and the first package was $1.79 cant beat that if it's ok to feed my fish this and they like it.

Currently have a Yellow Belly Blue Hippo Tang in QT thats going to get to try it. Along with the fish in my DT (see sig below) I have tried the Ocean Nutrition seaweed and my foxface cant seem to get enough of it. :) Hope he likes this stuff too. Not infused with garlic like the ON stuff is but there is 4x more of the stranded stuff (by weight) for 1/4 the price and 2x more of the nori sheets (by weight) for 1/4 the price.

Any insight/feedback from anyone on this.

Nick

Any input from anyone

Should be ok to try, I tried it with my blue tang and a yellow tang, they didn't seem too interested, just picked at it a little but would devour the omega one veggie flakes which are green...

FYI if needed you can get 100 full sheets (7x8) for $11 from noridirect.com. I usually buy 2 or 3 packs at a time.

I remember someone suggested "make sure it's UNSALTED"
On a serious note, I have been feeding my fish different seaweeds from the Asian market aside from nori.

I have 4 tangs, and I get simillar stuff from the asian market. Make sure it is "un-seasoned". Salted is ok, LOL!!! :D. Crunching into flake like pieces in a feed cup is not ideal for tangs, though. Best would be to cut it up into thin strips or roll it up like a cigarette then put it on a clip that attaches to the glass.

Here's a vid!!
