Trying to trap a fish with no luck

I've got one Lyretail anthias left and I can't trap him for anything. Been using an Aqua Medic trap for two weeks and nothing so far. Is it time to just quit feeding him? I need to start my tank fallen for three months. All other fish are out. This is a 200 gal tank. Any ideas would help.

I use a long plastic tube to feed my fishes..They now all swim up the tube to get the food..the only fish that doesn't go up the tube is my tang(it cant fit inside)..you should give that a try.. I got the tube from a box of t8 lights...ill try to snap a shot tomorrow

Wait until night time. Most fish have no clue after they are asleep.

he is buried up in the rocks at the back of the tank at night. No way on that. Tried all types of food in the trap. He just looks at it. He has to be hungry.

That is a problem. Anthias, being planktivores are unlikely to enter a trap.

Sound worse than it is, but you could try hooking it. I have used those really tiny hooks with the barb filed down sucessfully in the past. Are you sure the night ambush appraich cannot work. It is very effective.
