Good Morning Roger from Australia,
Was thinking about getting the TS 24 kit. Now my understanding is that you get 2 pumps at 12000L each on a wave maker. Cost here AUD $1200 (pumps not running at 100% all the time, so water motion will be less than 24000L hour).
Then I thought about getting 3 x 6080 pumps at 8500L each (total 25500) pumps - cost AUD$960 (pumps on 100% as not on a wave maker)
I'm already running an Aquamedic Wave Maker which already runs 3 x Aqua Clear 802 and 1 x 402.
Do you think the better option would be the kit for an extra AUD$300 or the 3 x 6080 pumps. You will get heaps more movement out of the 6080 pumps as they are on 100% of the time and not pulsing like the TS24 kit.
In all honesty, how important is wave motions, tide motions in our tanks. I would have thought as long as you have ample of water movement to remove coral waste, then that would be sufficient.
My tank is 8ft Long, 2.5ft wide, 2ft high, mixed corals (mainly LPS stonies), 1 large carpet anemone, few SPS and clams.
Also what is the maximum number of times that the 6080 can be switched on / off within 1 hour.
What is you honest opinion, or is there something around the corner that I should be waiting for?
Many thanks for your advice.
