Just wanted to share my ongoing build for the last 4 months. I started this build after my 60 slowly started to decline. The goal for this system was organization and thoughtful planning., basically everything I didnt do with my previous build. Without further ado here are my results.

Nice looking rimless. Why the light hung so high? I see sps, are they getting enough light/par?

Hey guys, the tank has been up for about 3 weeks now. The dimensions are 48x24x16 , as far as the height of the light its pretty bright and the sps seem to be doing well under them, I do not have a par meter and can't really comment if the sps are getting enough light or not. I do run carbon agressively and the water is very very clear which does help light penetrate deeper into an already shallow tank.

I also think the lights are way high, unless you have them at 100% and are moving them down to acclimate stuff.

thanks for the concern, I have been lowering them a few inches every few days. They aren't actually that high in person, but it does look pretty high in pictures.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Anyways I Just lost my ebil angel from poped-eye. I was able to remove him and treat him with some antibiotics, but unfortunately he didn't make it. For those that have QT What kind of filtration are you running? I need to set one up so this doesn't happen again.

I run a 20 gal qt with a fluval 404 canister filter. Makes it nice when I want to service or clean without disturbing tank. Holds enough water for 15% water change and with the various compartments I can place different sort of filter pads or carbon. I Take out the stock foams and have a large sponge that I keep in my sump seeded with bacteria so when I need to set it up I simply pull 23 gallons from main system (less than weekly water change amount) and throw in the pvc pieces and away we go. Never even had an ammonia spike. I have been running it for a while now and have placed 2 rocks in it. I know they will soak up copper but I haven't noticed it effect the copper content after I pull the copper out with a water change, cuprasorb and carbon. I am sure that it's there but never gonna use those rocks anywhere else. It seems to have made a big difference with certain fish in the qt. The best thing is most mess have a base 20 gal dose so it makes it easy.

Good luck.
