Tube Anemone Growth

I have a growth on my tube anemone and I am not sure how to remove it. Can i simply cut this off? And then do I need to be worried about harming the tube? I am not sure if the tube is actually living flesh or just a home for the anemone. I suspect this is simply some kind of algae but not sure. Thanks for your help!

You should be able to snip it right off, just be sure you don't puncture the tube.

THanks. Do I want to stay totally away from the tube? Would it be a problem if I slightly snipped the tube? Is the tube actually living flesh that the anemone feels when touched? THanks!

No, the tube is a mucous product, usually mixed with sand or sediment that the animal produces.

That is a neat algae. It doesnot seem to interfere with the worm. I would just leave it be.
