hi guys, ive read alot about tumbling gfo.but the instructions on the package say not to let it tumble.is what i was reading here about a different kind of media?anyone ever use phosban?

i just opened the bucket and there is a media bag.i have a reactor with sponges to keep the media from getting out.use the bag or no?

I have a reactor (kent marine) and use rowaphos.I just dump it into the bag to rinse in ro/di water and then dump the rowa into the reactor.I dont use the bag.

Tumbling abrades the GFO and releases material into the tank. The tumblers feel that the agitation help remove bacteria that colonize the surface of the media. Washing it periodically in hot water, about 150°F, will remove the film without breaking up the GFO.
